Dorothy L. Hall Brown,
Went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 21, 2012 in Leesville, LA at the age of 66.
Her greatest love was her family and she had a tremendous love for children, having worked for 36 years in the Vernon Parish School System, mainly in the K through 4th grades.
She was a lifelong resident of Leesville, LA having graduated from Leesville High School in 1963. She married the love of her life, Charlie Brown in December 1963. She taught Sunday school at Oak Forrest Baptist Church and East Leesville Baptist Church, and she also had a tract ministry at Oak Forrest Baptist Church. She was the type of person that if there ever was a need, she did it.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 48 years, Stanley E. "Charlie" Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey R. and Carrie Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Mary N. and Horace Wingate; brother and sister-in-law, William R. and Patsy Hall; four grandchildren, Courtney, Christopher, Carson and Jackson Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy F. and Mary Hall; brother, John W. Hall.
The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Hixson Funeral Home, Leesville, from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home, Leesville with Pastor Jerry Keys and Chaplin Daniel Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Lawn Cemetery, Leesville.
