Dorothy A. Martini, 69, of Cocoa, FL, passed away at home from a very short battle with cancer on Thursday, May 2, 2013. She was born in New Jersey and came to Brevard County in 1971.
Dorothy worked for Gannett Company for 33 years and retired as the Director of Information Technology. She was a member of AmVets in Rockledge and volunteered for the Meals on Wheels every Monday with her pal, Ray Cyr.
Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother and a true friend to those that knew her. Since her retirement, Dorothy traveled as much as she could; spending quality time with her family that will be cherished memories forever. Dorothy loved to take her "junkets", with her gambling buddies, and if you knew her at all, you knew she never met a slot machine that she didn't love!
One of her special qualities was that you never had to guess how she felt; she was either brutally honest, and if she wasn't, then that "look" she gave you, told it all. Her sense of humor would light up the room.
As the disease progressed, Dorothy was surrounded by her family; cousins, Ginny Rimback and Joanie Ridley; friends, Kathy Sanchez, Rachael Petralito and Marie Riehl.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Matthew Quarnaccio; daughter, Katherine Martini and partner, Sandy Morales; brothers, Michael J. Quarnaccio and wife, Connie and Ronald A. Quarnaccio; grandchildren, Morgan Quarnaccio and Gabrielle Quarnaccio; and great-grandchild, Savannah Cannada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mary Quarnaccio; husband, Robert Martini; brother, Ernest Quarnaccio; and sister in law, Josie Quarnaccio.
Services will be held on Sunday, May 5th from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, with graveside service immediately following at the Brevard Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the
