.Dorothy M. Olds, 96, of Coldwater, passed away October 14, 2011 at the Laurels of Coldwater. She was born January 27, 1915 in Branch County to Ora H. and Mabel Grace (Wright) Wood. She married Darrell Morrison in 1935 and married Max Olds in 1954. Both husbands had preceded her in death.
Dorothy was a graduate of Coldwater High School, attended college, then started working at Branch County Federal Savings and Loan for many years, retiring from there. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Business and Professional Women and the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard and traveling. She spent winters in Florida after her retirement. Her family remembers her as a "Great Mom" and she will be dearly missed.
Dorothy is survived by four children; Dick (Joann) Morrison of Coldwater, Max (Deena) Olds of Coldwater, Toni Granse of Mason, MI, Martin (Natha) Olds of Coldwater, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands; Darrell Morrison, Max Olds, her parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.
Visitation will be Monday, October 17, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Putnam Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Haak of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church.
