Dorothy Theresa Perry, 85, of Spotsylvania, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2011 at Carriage Hills Rehabilitation Center.
She was a long time member of Mine Road Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, John Milton Perry, she worked as his partner in the family upholstery business. She was proud of having been a master of the disappearing art of caning chairs. She was also an avid crocheter and her hand created "treasures" were always enjoyed by all who received them. Her greatest joy in life, however, was her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Dorothy "Gunga" Perry is survived by two sons, Donald Richard Perry and his wife Hazel and John Lawrence Perry and his wife Brenda, three grandsons, Jonathan L. Perry, David K. Perry and Adam C. Perry, and six great-grandchildren, and two sisters: Mary Thul of Mt. Carmel, PA and Marjory Ammerman of Middletown, PA.
The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Services Spotsylvania Chapel on Thursday, April 7, 2011. A service will be held at Mine Road Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 8, 2011. Internment will follow in the church cemetery.
