Eileen F. Bell, 89, of Clearfield, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011 at home.
She was born on July 3, 1922 in McKeesport, PA, the daughter of the late Charles and Charlotte (Hays) Gilbert.
Mrs. Bell was a graduate of McKeesport High School in 1941 and worked for J.C. Penny Co. in McKeesport then Kaufman's Department Store in Pittsburgh.
Eileen was a member of West Side United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's of the church and Class 16 of the Sunday school, Bonnie Whaling Knitting Class and has donated many knitted items to the Salvation Army and the Clearfield Hospital Nursery.
Survived by three daughters: Karen (John) O'Brien of Hanover, MD, Sandra (Murray) Alt of DuBois, Pa and Charlotte (Arthur) Kephart of Woodland, Pa; a son, Tom(Bernadette) Bell of Clearfield, PA. She is also survived by a brother, Charles Gilbert of Port Richey, FL; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and another one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Reverend Chalmers R. Bell, a sister Irene Case and Great Granddaughter, Caitlyn Alt.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. with Reverend Robert Croft officiating. Interment will be at Spring Valley.
Friends will be received from 6:00 until 8:00PM on Tuesday, October 18, at the funeral home. An additional hour of viewing will he held on Wednesday, from 1:00PM until the time of services.
