SHREVEPORT, LA – Services honoring the life of Earl D. Wright, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. His service will be officiated by Rev. Tom Brown. Interment, with Masonic and Military Honors, will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Tuesday evening between the hours of 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Earl was born in Limaville, OH on July 16, 1926, and laid down his earthly tools and entered eternal rest with The Supreme Architect Of All Things on November 1st 2013. He was an U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served in World War 2 and Korea. He retired from Singer Traffic Controls, but driven by his strong work ethic, he continued to work at various businesses including Shreveport Container and Universal Machine. Earl was very proud of all of his Masonic affiliations and honors which included becoming a Master Mason in 1966, Past Master of Temple Lodge #448 1973, Past Master Lebanon Lodge #440 1997, 1998 & 1999. He held offices and honors in Southern Hills Chapter # 103, Cedar Grove Chapter # 91, Minden Chapter # 55. He was member of both York Rite and Scottish Rite Masonic Orders. He continued to attend Joppa Lodge # 362. Other Masonic honors and affiliations are too numerous to list.
Earl was respected by all those who knew him.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Neila (Trainor) Wright; his first wife, May S. Wright; parents, George P. and Agnes (Girard) Wright; brothers, George W. and Richard E. Wright; and sister, Kate Hiepley. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Michael Wright; grandchildren, Sherilyn and Emily Wright; sister, Elva Dautherey; his favorite niece, Johnnie Duke who lovingly called him "Uncle Muscles" and numerous extended family.
Pallbearers will be his Masonic Brothers.
