Edward Van Adams of Lake City, GA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Piedmont Hospital.
Born on January 13, 1932 in Atlanta, GA to William A. Adams and Emmie K. Adams.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a retired truck driver after serving 45 years with Allied Van Lines and received multiple awards for outstanding service.
Edward is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey and his twin sister, Edna Arnold. He is predeceased by his son, John Adams. Also survived by his 3 daughters, Pamela Parker (Stanley), Teresa Johnson (Glenn), Cindy Joiner (Lynn), 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. His interests were traveling, the Atlanta Braves, football and car racing. He enjoyed country and gospel music and was a dedicated dog owner. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13th at Tara Garden Chapel between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Funeral Services in memory of Edward will be held on Saturday, January 14th at 11 a.m. at Tara Garden Chapel with Pastor Stan Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
