Edward Leroy "Paw" Blankenbaker was born to Ora and Iva Blankenbaker on December 24, 1930. Ed left his earthly home on September 17, 2011 at the age of 80.
Mr. Blankenbaker was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Arglen Blankenbaker; his son, James Edward Blankenbaker; parents, Ora and Iva Blankenbaker; brother, Ora "Junior" Blankenbaker, and sister, Nora Gill.
Mr. Blankenbaker is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Danny Cassels of Rosepine, LA; son and daughter-in-law, John and Rosie Blankenbaker of Rosepine, LA and son, Jody Blankenbaker of Mesquite, TX; along with 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Mr. Blankenbaker retired from Noble Drilling Company after 28 years in the oil filed and from Circle C Farm and Ranch Supply after 20 years of service.
Paw was a hardworking, family man, who enjoyed gardening.
Vistiation will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 from 4:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m at the Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m at the Hixson Funeral Home. Brother Hardy Estes and Brother Arlen Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Cypress Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home.
