Edward S. Cook, age 84, passed away in his home November 29. A visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 3, from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Temple with a graveside service immediately following the visitation at Holland Cemetery, Holland, Texas.
Eddie grew up in West Virginia and, out of high school, had the opportunity to serve in the Air Force based in both Kentucky and Texas. He then followed his parents to Texas where he started his profession as a teacher. Shortly thereafter, Eddie decided to move into coaching, taking positions in Corsicana, Rockdale, George West, McAllen, and Slaton over his 38 year career. He retired from coaching in 1983 and moved to Temple with his wife, Joy, to enjoy extended family. Even in retirement, Eddie enjoyed reliving his past coaching experiences with former players and coaches.
Mr. Cook is preceded in death by his wife, Joy, and a son, Timothy.
Survivors include his sons, Kelly Cook of Frisco and Terry Cook (wife Lucinda) of Buda as well as four grandsons, Cameron, Landon, Kaiden, and Kinsley.
