Edward Jackson Kelley Jr., 78, of Merriam, Kansas, passed away on August 12 after a long struggle with Multi-System Atrophy. He was married to Doris Frampton Kelley for 58 years and was very proud of his 3 sons and their families. He is survived by Randall and Pam of Seabeck, Washington, Marshall and Beth of Lawrence, Kansas and Darrell and Melody of Olathe, Kansas, sister, Beverly Armbrust of Peoria, IL and loved by 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Born in Peoria, IL, he worked in Television at WMBD prior to moving to Kansas City. He worked 38 years at KMBC-TV9 beginning in projection and ultimately becoming Chief Engineer. He was involved in camping with the National Campers and Hikers Assn. and was a soccer coach during the earliest days of soccer in Kansas City. He enjoyed traveling to the family cabin in Wisconsin, fishing with his sons and making fond memories. He will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be 6-8pm, Friday, August 15, 2014 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel. Funeral services will be 10am, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Antioch Pioneer Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.mcgilleyhoge.com.
