Edward Nobles, 85, of East Ridge, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013.
Mr. Nobles was born in Richard City, TN to C.E. and Laura Nobles. He was a graduate of Central High School where he was a star running back nicknamed "Racehorse Nobles". He earned a football scholarship to the University of Chattanooga and was a US Navy and Korean War veteran. Ed retired as a salesman from the Chattanooga Times Free Press. He enjoyed golfing after his retirement and was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Hale Nobles; his parents; brothers, Bill, Clarence, Jewell and Howard; and sisters, Betty, Evelyn and Catherine.
Surviving are his children, Bill Nobles, Greg (Piengchai) Nobles; Cyndi Nobles and Jess (Renee) Nobles; granddaughter, Heather Smartt; grandson, Brandon (Brandy) Nobles; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
