Eileen E. Bates, age 91 of West Bloomfield, passed away February 15, 2010. Loving wife of the late James L. Bates II, dear mother of James L. Bates III and the late Patricia Newsome, proud grandmother of Brenda (Kevin) Neibauer , Sandra (James) Beaver, David Newsome, James L.Bates IV, Dianna Newsome & Jody (Nick) Arnold, great grandmother of 8. Eileen was a Corporal in United States Marines Coprs. during WWII . She enjoyed gardening and quilting. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Rd., Highland. Rev. Fr. Jack Baker will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 -7 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial donations may be made to the donors choice.
