Elanore Clare Allen, 97, formerly of Waterford, MI passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Elanore was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in White Lake, where she was also a member of the 50 up club. She enjoyed playing bridge, doing needlework, writing poetry, doll making and sewing. Elanore was a member of the poetry club at the Inn at Cass Lake in Waterford, MI. Survivors include daughters, Patricia Medel and husband, Leonard, of Bay City, MI; Michele Hartley and husband Keith, of Fort Pierce, FL; Margaret Sanford and husband, Deforest, of Waterford, MI; Judith Traxler and husband, John of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter-in-law Joanne Allen of Shelby Twp., MI and son-in-law John Cullen of Fosston, MN and 23 grandchildren. Numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Mitchell E. Allen, son, Lynd Allen and daughter Joanne Cullen, 1 grandchild and 8 great grandchildren.
The funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at St. Patrick Church, 9086 Hutchins Rd., White Lake. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 31, 2012, at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Rd., White Lake. Interment will be at Oxbow Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Imago Dei Crisis Pregnancy Center, 30521 Schoenherr Rd. Warren, MI 48088.
