Whiting – Elinor A. Eufemia passed away on Friday, June 13th at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was 81.
Born in the Bronx to Edwin and Elizabeth Johnston. She lived in Central Valley, NY before moving to Whiting in 1997.
She is Predeceased by her husband Alfred Eufemia in 2001 and her sister Justine Johnston in 1987.
She is survived by siblings Jane Picchio and husband of Ringwood, NJ; Daniel Johnston and wife of Poughquag, NY; Edwin Johnston and wife of Englewood, FL.
Elinor is survived by nine children: Jean Eufemia of Middletown, NY; Joan Miller and husband of Stafford, VA; John Eufemia of Whiting, NJ; Beth Zeoli of Chatsworth, Georgia; Ann Tripodi and husband of Stafford, VA; Mary Harrop and husband of Stafford, VA; Robert Eufemia of Stafford, VA; Joseph Eufemia of Newburgh,NY; and Ellen Eufemia of Stafford, VA, also by 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her companion of 7 years, John Kush of Whiting, NJ.
Elinor was a resident of Cedar Glen Lakes. She served as member of the Board of Directors for 8 years; president of SOS; Vice-president of Library volunteers; Security Patrol; Variety Players; and the Cedar Chips.
