Elio Maurizi, 79, of Arlington, was born on September 13, 1933 in Chicago Heights, IL. to Emidio and Mary (Vitelli) Maurizi. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, a sister Louise Tribo and two brothers John and Louie Maurizi. Mr. Maurizi has been a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church since 1953, is a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army, and is retired from International Harvester after 35 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Barbara Bacigalupo Maurizi, 6 children, Debbie Maurizi of Arlington, TN., Elio Maurizi Jr. (Nancy Jo) of Arlington, TN., Raymond Maurizi (Cindy) of Arlington, Marty Maurizi (Judy) of Paragould, AR., Maria Maurizi Cargile (Richard) of Spring, TX., and John Maurizi (Laura) of Smyrna, TN., 2 brothers Rinaldo Maurizi of Matteson, IL. and Robert Maurizi (Helen) of Manteno, IL., brother-in-law Louie Tribo, sister-in-law Gerty Maurizi, 17 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Mr. Maurizi was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm with a rosary at 7pm on Tuesday, July 2 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. The funeral will be on Wednesday at 9am also at the funeral home with burial to follow at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 1000 Forest Hill Irene.
