Elizabeth Abshire, 53 of DeQuincy, LA passed away on Saturday, December 3 2011 at a local hospital.
Elizabeth was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing, hunting and working on her computer. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and loved her grandchildren dearly.
Elizabeth is survived by: husband, Emile Abshire of DeQuincy; daughters; Alicia Ebarb and husband Eddie of DeQuincy, Angie Manuel and husband Bartley of DeQuincy, and step-daughter, Monica Saucier and husband Adam of Lafayette; step-son, Gary Abshire and wife Courtney of New Iberia; sisters; Patricia Weldon and husband Pee-Wee of Pitkin; Vivian Doyle and husband Wayne of DeRidder; and 6 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 from 2:00p.m until 9:00 p.m at the Northside Baptist Church of DeQuincy. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m at the Northside Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck, LA under the direction of Hixson Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy.
