Elizabeth "Betsy" Vollmar Beicker passed away on the 24th of October, 2012 at the age of 94. She was born in Seguin on May 18th, 1918 to Frank and Erna Busch Vollmar. Mrs. Beicker was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert Beicker; son, Michael Wayne Beicker; brothers: Martin, Ruben, Walter, Ferdinand and his wife Irene, John and his wife Dorothy Vollmar; sister, Margaret Sisco; niece, Patricia Sisco Ross; brother-in-law Louie Sowders and his wife Lola.
She is survived by her sons, Stanley James and Donald Edward Beicker; special niece whom she helped raise, Jolene Springs and her husband Billy; nieces: Mary Thomas of Coolidge, TX, Cindy Roseberry of Groebeck, TX, Janice Joyce of Hot Springs, AR, and Cecilia Jetton of Portland, TX; special great niece, Sharon Illhardt and her husband Alan; brother-in-law, Osby Sisco of Tennessee; nephews: Gregory Vollmar of Seguin, TX, Thomas Sisco of Whitney, TX, Mark Vollmar of Round Rock, TX, Ferdinand Vollmar, Jr. of San Antonio, TX, and James Vollmar of Richmond, TX; special friend, Anne Theiss; and numerous other great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Guadalupe Valley Nursing Center, Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, Guadalupe Regional Hospice, Dr. Kaspar, Dr. Tsen, Dr. Kuo, Dr. Boullioun, Dr. Gross, Akin Ambulance, and Seguin EMS.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, October 25th in the front stateroom of Goetz Funeral Home. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 12:30 pm on Friday, October 26th at St. James Catholic Church, followed by a Funeral Mass commencing at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Geronimo Volunteer Fire Department.
