Elizabeth DiGiorgio Coccia, formerly of Bloomfield, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Care One at Morris in Parsippany. She was 86 years old.
Services will be conducted from the LaMonica Memorial Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston on Monday, December 17 at 8:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church in Cedar Knolls at 10 am. Entombment is in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation is on Sunday from 2-6 pm.
Elizabeth was born in Newark and lived in Bloomfield for over 60 years before moving to Cedar Knolls. She was employed by the United Jewish Federation in Whippany as an Administrative Assistant in the Women's Division for over 20 years, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of the Associates of St. Lucy Filippini, the Adoration Ministry of Notre Dame Church in Cedar Knolls and a former member of the Children of Mary of St. Francis Xavier Church in Newark.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Joseph Coccia; her children Joseph Coccia Jr. and his wife Nancy, Anna Marie Cesario and her husband Dan, and Elisa Scarpino and her husband Anthony; her grandchildren Joseph III, Matthew and Elizabeth Coccia, Nicole and Daniel Cesario, and Elyse and Grace Scarpino; and her great grandchildren Matthew and Kevin. She is predeceased by her parents Salvatore and Elisa DiGiorgio and her brothers Angelo and Thomas.
