Elvira Acevedo was born on January 4, 1921 to Juan and Dolores Garcia. She is survived by her daughter, Delia Cortez, son's; Robert James and William Henry and her sister Julia Alarcon who is age 96. She was preceded in death by her sister Nellie and brother's; Juan, Ralph and Lalo. They lived in Arizona.
Elvira decided to move to California in the 1940's where she met Albert A. Acevedo. They were married and moved to Los Angeles. Elvira gave birth to her daughter, Delia Irene on September 2, 1946. Her son, Robert James, was born on April 19, 1948 and soon after they moved to Lakewood California. Their third child, William Henry was born on January 10, 1954. Elvira stayed home to raise their children but did work a little; ironing and cleaning homes for extra money.
She lived in the same home in Lakewood- all these years. Elvira was a wonderful grandmother to 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Her presence will be deeply missed but not forgotten. May she rest in peace. Elvira went home to the Lord on June 4, 2012.
