Embelina M. Banfield a lifelong resident of New Rochelle passed away Wednesday April 25, 2012. She was 79 years old. Embelina was born in Portchester and was the daughter of Jaime and Mabel Dosreis. She was the devote wife of William whom she married on September 24, 1955 at the Holy Name of Jesus Church. Embelina adored her grandchildren, was a great crossword puzzle and word game enthusiast, a collector of pictures and enjoyed family and friends. She worked at Lillian Vernon and was a Registered Nurse until leaving the work force to raise her family. Besides her Husband William she is survived by her children Debra (Kenneth) Potter, Donna (Nick) Trotta and William (Patricia) Banfield, her sister Trudy Garramone and her five grandchildren Danielle, Jacqueline, Nicholas, Paige and Kate. She was also predeceased by her sister Maryann Moberg. Visiting will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 9:30 a.m. Mass scheduled for Saturday at St. Gabriel's Church with interment to follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
