Emil Petro

May 6, 1917 - March 7, 2010
Emil Petro a long time Stamford resident passed away on Sunday March 7, 2010 at his home in Stamford.
He was 92 . Born in Checkoslovakia on May 6, 1917 he was the son of the late John and Mary Petrasko Petro.
Mr. Petro came to the United States at age 14, and was employed as a Baker at the Cottage Bake Shop for over 10 years in Stamford. He also was employed for 30 years at the Swiss Chalet in New Canaan, Ct. He was a United States Army veteran and served in WWII.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary Turanec Petro in June of 1994 and his son Emil J. Petro in June of 1996.
He is survived by his daughter Beverly P. Slinsky of Stamford, CT, his grandson Kevin J. Slinsky and Suzzane, his great grandson Kyle J. Slinsky all of Danbury ,CT, his sister Ruth Hopco, his brother John Hopco & Josephine all of Bridgeport, Ct, He is also survived by Elizabeth Csehak of Bridgeport, CT and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Bosak Talboys Funeral Home 2900 Summer Street on Wednesday March 10 from 5 to 8 PM
A funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church 265 Seaside Avenue on Thursday March 11, 2010 at 11 A.M
Burial will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery
