Emma Caroline Kron, 90, of Evansville, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Heritage Center. She was born on September 14, 1922.
She was a member of Salem Church of Darmstadt and very active in the Women's Guild. She was also involved with Vanderburgh County Farm Bureau, past 4-H leader, and VFW 1114 Ladies Auxiliary.
Emma enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, and cooking for her family. She was very active in helping at church and the 4-H Center with meals.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John E. Kron.
She is survived by her son, Larry Kron (Judy); daughters, Diane Wire (Gary), Linda Thomas (Michael), and Susan Gourley (Bobby); brother, Henry Schillinger; seven grandchildren, Todd Thomas, Jill Vieira, Lesley Nettles, Leah Mowrer, Adam Kron, Ryan Gourley, and Jonathan Gourley; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Heritage Center Staff and caregivers for their care throughout the years.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 10, 2012 at Salem Church of Darmstadt, officiated by Rev. David Peterson with burial at Salem Church of Darmstadt Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel and on Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Church of Darmstadt or Vanderburgh County 4-H Center Trust Fund.
