Mrs. Ennis Shirah Andrews, formerly of Ozark, died late Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Wetumpka Health & Rehabilitation. She was 91. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 2 p.m. from Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Reverend Dennis Itson and Reverend Randy Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Post Oak Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m.
Ennis Andrews, daughter of the late Chester Arthur and Exie Anna Johnson Shirah, was born February 16, 1920 in Dale County, Alabama. She was a long-time member of the Post Oak Baptist Church, sang in the church choir, and taught Sunday school. Mrs. Andrews was instrumental in organizing the Women's Missionary Union and she served as President of the Dale County WMU Association. She was a homemaker and also assisted her husband in operating their business, Andrews Grocery Store.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Cecil Andrews, and her grandson, Ronald David Andrews.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael David (Mickey) and Diane Andrews of Tallahassee, Florida; two daughters and son-in-law, Annice and Mark Bloss of Millbrook; Kathy Windham of Rossville, Georgia; seven grandchildren: Shannon Nicole Stallworth, Alisha Seal, Buffy Smelley, Todd Windham, Jason Windham, Christina Haywood, and Mark Bloss, III; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Chester Lamar Shirah of Holly Hill, Florida. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Post Oak Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4108 N. Union Avenue, Ozark, AL 36360.
