Enzo "Bill" Farneti of Binghamton, NY
Enzo William Farneti is safely home and reunited in heaven with the love of his life, his wife of 59 years, Angelina Mastronardi Farneti, on Friday, May 17, 2013. His adoring, blessed, and grateful children, Gary & Judy Farneti of Binghamton, Donna M. Garr of Katonah, and David R. Farneti of Manasquan, NJ, were at his bedside when he passed peacefully.
Enzo was predeceased by his parents, Domenico and Mary Farneti, his brother, Aldo and sisters-in-law, Jennie and Mary Farneti, and his dearest friend, Hank Gaul. He is survived by his precious grandchildren, Chrystie and Chris Johnson, Cara Farneti, Laura Garr, Nina and Matthew Cudney, Corinne, Sara, Michael and Gabriella Farneti, and great-grandchildren Grace Angelina and Juliette Natalia Johnson, Rhyan Angelina and Grayson Michael Cudney. He also leaves behind his beloved brother and best buddy, Arthur Dominic Farneti. He will be sorely missed by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition, he is survived by his in-laws, Jimmy, Rita, Julio, Vito, and Victor Mastronardi and their families.
Enzo was born in Old Forge, PA, graduated from Binghamton Central High School, attended the University of North Carolina Officer's Training School, and received his Bachelors in business from Syracuse University. He was a World War II Navy veteran, an accountant for Ernst and Whinney in NYC and Marine Midland Bank in Binghamton, Controller for WNBF/WBNG TV, and Chief Financial Officer of Gateway Communications. He was a proud, life -long member of the YMCA Athletic Club and member of the Jesse Hyde 15,000 Mile Jogging Club. Bill enjoyed his times with his Breakfast Club pals, spending winters in Florida with his wife and friends, growing magnificent flower and vegetable gardens, and working out daily with his "Y" family. But most important in Enzo's life was his family.
Enzo was a devoted member of St. Paul's Church for over 65 years. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff at St. Louise and Elizabeth Church Manor where he was treated with dignity and respect. Their endless loving attention is greatly appreciated.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 9:15 AM at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson and continue at 10:00 AM in St. Paul's Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco & Son Funeral Home Tuesday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Broome County YMCA Foundation at 61 Susquehanna Street, Binghamton, NY
