On the 18th day of February, 2012, Essie "Flo" Bady, 85 years, Grand Prairie, was welcomed into the afterlife by her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Bady, her adoring son Theo "Freddie" Holt, her sisters Ola, Ila, Effie, Icie, Vickie, and brothers, Robert L. and Nathan, and of all her friends and family that preceded her into heaven. From being a basketball star in high school, and playing bass in a country music band through teaching 3rd grade in East Prairie, MO., and spending years as a label maker at Rexall, the role she held longest and loved most was as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22 from 12pm-2pm at Moore Bowen Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Road in Arlington. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 2pm in the Moore Bowen Funeral Home Chapel.
She is survived by her brother, Robert E. Mattox and wife Peggy, son Michael Holt Sr. and his wife Patsy, her daughter in-law Susan Van Markwyk, her grandchildren, Shawn Marie Menton and husband Jeff, Michael Holt Jr., and wife Krislyn, Timothy Holt and wife Cindy, Kimberly Holt, and Megan Hartman and husband Scott. Also survived by her great grandchildren, Amanda, Olivia, Victoria, Avery, Hayden, Aiden and Rowan, as well as her step-granddaughters, Pamila and Kristy, and great grandchildren, Payton, Kourtney, Alex and Joshua.
While each of us feels sorrow and grief individually for our loss, collectively our joy is with her as she leaves the pain of this world and ascends into eternity. The celebration of her life will be held at noon on Wednesday at Moore Funeral home in Arlington, with services to commence immediately thereafter. She will be returned to her home in St. Louis, with burial services on Friday, to enjoy eternity resting next to her loving husband, Bob.
We would like to thank the caring people with New Century Hospice who gave her the gift of being home for her final journey.
We will miss you Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and friend. Please remember to keep smiling down on us.
