Essie Mae Bell, age 91, of Winder, GA, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012. She was retired from Winder-Barrow Hospital. Mrs. Bell attended church at Bethabra Baptist Church in Hoschton, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Johnson Bell; two brothers, Gartrell and Eugene Martin; and her sister, Beatrice Johnson. Survivors include her son, Phillip "Wayne" Bell of Statham, GA; three daughters, Lenis Blackstock of Winder, GA, Janet Fielder of Danielsville, GA, and Marie Knight of Toccoa, GA; ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA, on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 6-9 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Linwood Smith officiating. The burial will follow the service at Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery, Hoschton, GA. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
