Estermae was our teacher, Class of '49, at Cedar Grove HS and taught history and, I believe, some English classes. She was one of our favorites, was our last surviving teacher, and we invited her to what is to be our 65th reunion this fall. We hope Estermae will be with us in spirit. Chris was our band director and we enjoyed both of these fine people.

Our friendship goes back to the late 1940s when I (Ray) started playing with the Chris Ehler Band as a drummer. For years, the band enjoyed playing every Saturday nite...plus many other engagements. We had a picnic every summer...we also visited for social get to gethers at our house and the other band members houses. It brings back lots of memories of the Good Old Days. I believe I am the only member of the original Chris Ehler Band that is still living. When the 6 piece band jobs slowed up, we ended up playing at the Flamingo Supper Club for many years as a 3-piece group with Harold Fisher playing accordian...an outstanding accordianist. Guess we all get into the Golden Years as the years pass. Our Prayers are with Mae and her daughter Beth.
