Ethel Mae Harman Brammer, age 84, of 1024 Mountain Road, Martinsville, died at home under hospice care. Ethel was born March 16, 1928 in Woolwine, Va to the late Caleb and Bessie Haynes Harman. She graduated in 1948 from Woolwine High School. Ethel retired from Bassett-Walker. She also worked at Dupont and Fieldcrest Mills. She was also well known playing the part of "Minnie Pearl".
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband, Daniel Lester Brammer; four brothers, Lee Harman, George Harman, Murray Harman and Clyde Harman, and an infant sister.
She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda K. Brammer and husband, Rodney McCloud of Martinsville and Linda B. Haynes and husband, Billy L. Haynes of Stuart, three great step grandsons, two step grand children and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers, Josephine Ann Curry, Kenny Curry, Barbara Felts and Geneva P. Martin and also Mountain Valley Hospice.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Community Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Reggie Steele officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.
Community Funeral Services of Ridgeway will be assisting the family.
