Ethel Hansen Appenzellar, born 4/23/1911 passed away 8/21/2011. She celebrated her 100th birthday in good health with family and friends. Ethel was the last surviving grandchild of Hans Ludwig Hansen who brought his family of 6 children and wife Caroline to America in 1883 from Denmark. After settling in America, they had four more children. Ethel's husband, Edgar Price Appenzellar, preceded her in death in 1976. Ethel had a long career working with the Chancellor's office at UCLA. She is survived by four nieces: Linda Spackman of Utah, Laurie Meinke of CA, Judith Freeland of Michigan and Karen Hansen of CA and many extended family and friends. She was loved by many and will be sorrowfully missed.
