Eugene Harrelson, age 81, a resident of Cedar Grove Community, passed away
at his home on Saturday, October 22. Funeral services will be held on
Tuesday, October 25 at 1:00 PM at Union Springs Baptist Church with burial
at Cedar Grove Methodist Church to follow. Rev. Duane Dunn and Rev. Ray
Harris will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6:00 PM to
8:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home in Dublin, Georgia.
Mr. Harrelson was born on July 16, 1930 in Cedar Grove. He was a
graduate of Cedar Grove High School where he was active in
basketball. He graduated from Brewton Parker College, where he
received a degree in business.
He served in the Army for two years during the Korean War and was
discharged in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He then worked thirty years for
Southern Sales Company.
Mr. Harrelson married Frances Gilder in Lawton, Oklahoma at the First
Baptist Church on June 1, 1952.
He is survived by his wife, sister, Eudene Shabot, his son Greg, his
daughter, Gilda Bisbee, nine grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
Mr. Harrelson was preceded in death by his oldest son, Clint.
