Eugene E. "Gene" Hoffman, 71, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013. He was born on September 6, 1941 to the late Herman F. and Frances C. (Landstoffer) Hoffman. He retired from Dana after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the NRA. Surviving family include siblings, Mary Johnson of Yoder, Ken Hoffman of Ossian; nieces and nephews, Mark (Deanne) Hoffman, Kathy (Jerry) Voirol, Cheryl (Ken) Bloom, Tim (Rose) Johnson, David (Kelly) Johnson, Tina Hoffman (Bob Burnside), Brenda (Dan) Rupright, Chris (Tonya) Hoffman, Peggy (Bill) Smith; 18 great nieces and nephews, and 1 great great niece. A mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 am on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 pm on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. A rosary will be recited at 7:45 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Masses, Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Women's Care Center, or Father Solanus Guild.
