Alice Evelyn "Mamaw Pepper" Hobbs, born July 23,1927 went to be with the Lord on April 14,2011 after a brief illness. Mrs. Hobbs passed away peacefully at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport,Tn. She was a member of Homeland Baptist Church.
Evelyn was the beloved wife of Curtis F. Hobbs for over 50 years, the loving mother of Armina Kegley and husband Jeff; Tammie Joyner and husband Joel; treasured grandchildren Kelsi Eastis, Ethan Kegley, Jake Joyner and Jaren Kegley . Evelyn will forever be remembered by her devoted brothers Billy K. and Paul Housewright, Loving sister Judy Jenkins, special nephew Billy K. Housewright Jr.; A very close friend Sally Bledsoe along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her. Mrs.Hobbs was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter Sherry "Renee" Hobbs; Parents Bill and Mary Sue Housewright and sister Lois Housewright Gladson.
The family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Sunday April 17,2011 at East Lawn Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. J.W. Depew officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Begley, Joel Joyner, Jeff Kegley, Billy K.Housewright Jr., Jake Joyner, Ethan Kegley, Matt Fleenor and Jaren Kegley. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM. Monday in East Lawn Memorial Park.
