Funeral services for Flora Mae Burney 91 of Dublin will be held in Chester at the Chester Church of God, Thursday morning March 12, 2009 at 11:00A.M. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Rev. Keith Powell and Rev. Wayne Burney will be the officiating ministers.Mrs. Burney was born January 15, 1918 to the late Robert Adkins and Emma Hobbs Burney.
Mrs. Burney had lived in Laurens County all of her life. Her favorite pass time was working out doors in her flower gardens. She enjoyed cooking and if you went away hungry it was your fault. She loved her family and she will be missed by many. She was a member of the Chester Church of God and she made God first in her life. Mrs. Burney was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Burney; a grandson, David Burney. Mrs. Burney passed away at her home Monday night, March 9, 2009 with all of her family around her.
Mrs. Burney was survived by Sandy Coleman (Glynn) of Dublin, Victoria Wall (Doyle) of Dexter, Geraldine Warren (Jack) of Dexter, James Burney (Janice) of North Carolina, Billy Burney (Carolyn) of Dexter, Benny Burney (Debbie) of North Carolina and Jean Coleman of Dexter, 23 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
