Florence Marie Meschberger Benton, born Easter Sunday April 20, 1924 in Stafford Kansas.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday April 15,2010 at Alta Woods Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday April 14,2010 from 6:30 till 8:30pm at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home High Street and 10:00am Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Daughter of Daniel Sigmund Meschberger and Lena Lichte Meschberger. She was third of eight children born to their union. She attended and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in Stafford. She graduated from Stafford High before attending nursing school in Hutchinson, KS. She met Naval Aviation Cadet Ray Benton from the Hutchison Naval Air Station, while a nursing student. They married in 1947 and moved to Jackson, MS. She had six children.
She is survived by one sister and two bothers; Eunice Moody of Kingman, KS, and Marion and Wayne Meschberger of Stafford, Kansas, Six children; William Daniel Benton of Albuquerque, NM, Carolyn Ellis of Clinton, MS, Dr. Richard Alan Benton of Clinton, MS, Suzanne Kilman, of Clinton, MS, Patricia Frazier of Clinton, MS, Angela Brunson of Prague, OK. , 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Alta Woods Baptist Church, Highpointe Baptist Church, or Pro-Life MS.

My family and I were are so sorry for the loss of you mother. She was such a sweet lady and will certainly be missed by all who knew her.
