Frances Christine (Deese) Woolford was born December 27, 1927 to Edmond and Sally Deese in Pembroke, N.C. Chris was a resident of Dallas N.C. most of her life but lived many years in Maryland. She spent the last 3 years in the loving care of Peak Resources in Gastonia.
She was divorced from the late Wilton Earl Woolford of Arbutus. She was survived by her loving family, her only son, William Earl Woolford, daughter-in-law Ginger Woolford, only grandchild William Earl Woolford, Jr. of Maryland and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Chris was the last surviving child of the 12 children born to Edmond and Sally. She had 4 brothers and 7 sisters, Raymond, Carrie Mae, Costilla, Flowers, Annie, Adlaide, Maudie, Isa, Walter, Johnny, and Pernell.
She worked for Western Electric and retired in 1983 after 28 years of service. She loved to travel, doing ceramics, and gardening. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Carothers Funeral Home, 312 W. 2nd Ave, Gastonia, NC 28052. Burial will follow at Long Creek Memorial Cemetery in Dallas.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Carothers Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation - Finance Dept. 30 East 33rd Street New York, NY 10016.
