Obituary Notice
Frank Paul Calvaruso, 91, of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Coldwater, MI, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011. He was born in Albion, MI August 30, 1920 to Frank and Dominia Calvaruso. Frank graduated from Albion High School in 1939.
He married Eloise Phinney January 7, 1945 in Albion.He was employed at Service Caster, Bill Benicasa Car Sales and Bilicke Oldsmobile. His favorite pastime in Albion was a bag of Cascarelli's peanuts and watching Albion college football. Frank and Eloise housed many college students in their home.
In 1959, they moved to Coldwater where Frank was employed as sales manager at Toupalik and Sweeney Buick Pontiac car dealerships. He later became owner of Cal's Realty for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Elks, Kiwanis and UCT organizations and a parishioner of St. Charles Catholic Church.
Frank and Eloise spent 35 years at Coldwater Lake with family and friends. The Fourth of July was his favorite holiday. To him, there was nothing better than making Italian sausage and homemade ice cream and a game of Yard Jarts with his children and grandchildren.
Frank and Eloise spent their retirement years in Naples, Florida where Frank enjoyed growing many citrus trees, playing shuffleboard, cards, bowling and shelling with his grandchildren at the beach.
Frank and Eloise moved to St. Charles, MO in 2007, to be near family making Fairwinds Rivers Edge Retirement Community their home. He enjoyed Bingo, Poker, Day Trips and the annual Halloween Costume Party, taking first place each year.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eloise (Phinney) Calvaruso, his children; daughter Judy (Tony) Gruner of Ocala, FL, son, Frank (Petra) Calvaruso of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, daughter, Susan (Garth Burdette) Wilber of St. Charles, MO. His beloved grandchildren; Matthew (Celeste) Gruner, John Gruner, Lee (Gruner) Zuck, Sofia Calvaruso, Sarah (Lance) Lawson, Seth (Laura) Wilber and great grandchildren; Lana Zuck, Chase Zuck, Grant Lawson, Evan Lawson and Benjamin Wilber.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 18, 2011 from 2 until 7 at Fairwinds Rivers Edge, St. Charles, MO
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater, MI.
