Frank Wayne Clifton, 71, passed away to be with his Lord Jesus on April 22, 2013 in Everett, WA. He was born to Clayton and Clista Clifton in Yakima, WA. Frank graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1960. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He retired from the Snohomish County PUD after thirty years and later managed Dollar Plus stores for several years in the area.
Frank never met a stranger. Though he loved to talk, he was also a good listener and enjoyed getting to know people wherever he went. His compassion and strong spirit were evident when, after losing both of his legs to vascular disease in 2005, the hospital staff called on him regularly over the next few years to come in and encourage new amputees. Frank considered it an honor.
The family had property at Pilaguamish Community Club for several years where they enjoyed spending weekends with family and friends. It didn't take long for Frank to know everyone in the area. He enjoyed running around in his golf cart and, of course, visiting. Frank also loved gardening, cars, and shopping. He especially liked to buy gifts.
Last summer Frank and Nancy took a trip across the United States with their best friends, Dick and Linda Johnson. It was something they had all talked and dreamed about for years. Along the way they visited family and friends from coast to coast and Frank loved every minute of it. Of course, it gave him an endless number of new stories to tell.
Frank is survived by his wife, Nancy, daughter Traci Clifton of Everett, son Travis Clifton of Everett, sisters Jane (Dennis) Cuchiara of Colorado, Donna Clifton of Everett, Sherry (Ed) Bozell of Arlington, Cathy (Chip) Byrne of Florida, Debbie (Chris) Greenlee of Everett, and a large extended family of in-laws, cousins and nieces and nephews. Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Donations may be made to the Everett Gospel Mission in Frank's name.
