Frank Effinger, 87, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Parkview Care Center. He was born September 2, 1926, in Evansville, to the late Frank John and Mary (Martin) Effinger.
He was a graduate of F.J. Reitz High School and served in the US Navy. He retired as a Supervisor from Whirlpool after 42 years. He attended Christian Fellowship Church and was a member of VFW Post #1114. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Frank is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie (Wallace) Effinger of Evansville; daughter, Sharon Effinger of Phoenix, AZ; sons, Michael (Margaret) Effinger of Fishersville, VA and Jeffrey (Nancy) Effinger of Evansville; grandchildren, Michael (JoAnn) Effinger, Rachel, Tiffany and Charissa Effinger, Charity (Jeff) Rogers, Caleb and Joel (Kirstein) Effinger, Micah and Holly Effinger, Christy (Louis) Scavuzzo, Andrew (Sabrina), Paul, Joe and Tim Effinger; great-grandchildren, Colleen, Meagan and Will Effinger; sisters, Marilyn and Charlotte Effinger, Betty Dunning and Jane (Robert) Fisher; brothers, Jerry (Mary), William (Dorothy), Merle (Margaret), Ernie (Linda) and Steve Effinger; brother-in-law, Ernie Johnson; sister-in-law, Olga Effinger; nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Cliff Herring, with private burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
