Frank "Sonny" Donald Hall, age 80 of Marion, NC died Monday, January 21, 2013 at Autumn Care of Marion surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Hall was born March 2, 1932 in McDowell County, NC to the late Garland Hall and Maggie Lee Jimison. He attended Catawba Heights Baptist Church and worked many years at Drexel Furniture. He loved wind mills, trains, woodworking and telling stories. All the children loved him for his bubble gum.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Johnson Hall; two grandchildren, Bradley Martin and Nisha Sanders; three special friends, Marshall Sheehan, Ed Buchanan and Junior Williams; and several siblings.

Surviving Mr. Hall are six children, Barry Sanders of Marion, Randy Hall and wife, Annette of Groton, CT, Danny Hall and wife, Rita of Marion, Patricia Luna of Old Fort, Richard Hall and wife, Kim of Nebo and John Hall and wife, Jennifer of Marion; one brother, Carol Hall and wife, Gladys of Marion; one sister, Ruth "Sissie" Gossett of Marion; four sisters-in-law, Ruby Hall of Marion, Eunice Connor and husband, Gerald of Nebo, Connie Cagle of Nebo and Iva McGinnis Hutchins of Old Fort; a special friend, Jack McCormick; twenty-six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a large extended family including his Autumn Care family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM on , Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Catawba Heights Baptist Church with Pastor James Walker and Rev. Robert Vance officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
