Obituary Notice
Fred S. Garnsay, 81, of Union City, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Community Health Center of Branch County with his family at his side. He was born April 27, 1931 in Battle Creek to Stanley A. and Ethah B. (Williams) Garnsay. He married Charlotte Edwards October 15, 1955 in Waterloo, Indiana. She survives.
Fred was raised in the Marshall area before moving to Union City. He worked at Union Pump in Battle Creek for 27 years. He was a member of the Wesleyan Church and the American Legion. Fred was very friendly and giving and loved to talk to anyone. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. He also loved antique cars and collecting die cast model cars.
Fred is survived by his wife, Charlotte, children; Keith Garnsay, Kathryn (Darrel) Dinsmoor, Karl (Rondae) Garnsay, grandchildren; Kyle Garnsay, Kayla Garnsay, Logan Garnsay, Dakota Garnsay, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, November 16, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Wesleyan Church in Union City. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Marty Burdick officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Union City.
