Freeman Ray Ayers
Princeton-Freeman Ray Ayers, 82, of Princeton passed away at his residence on November 15, 2009.
Born October 7, 1927 at Barkers Ridge, Wyoming County. Freeman was the son of the late Clarence Ayers and Lula Smith Ayers. He was a member of Lilly Grove Baptist Church. He was the former owner of Ayers Custom Shop in Princeton and a former employee of N & W Railroad as a brakeman for 22 years. He also served in the US Army during WW II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie G. Ayers; one daughter, Eva Lucado; three brothers, John, June and Tommy Ayers; one sister Laura Ayers.
He will be sadly by his son, Gary Ayers and wife Chris of Princeton; Three grandchildren, Kerry Barone of Virginia Beach, Crystal Nelson and Billy Ayers all of Princeton; Brother, Claude Ayers of Delaware; Sister, Charlotte Ashley of Alabama; and six great grandchildren.
There will be graveside services at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 with the Reverend Ray Lynch officiating. Pallbearers will be David Nelson, Billy Ayers, Arlus Wiley, Fred Wiley, Herbert Wiley, Richard Bailey, Marvin Rickman and Dempsey Murphy.
