Frieda Voigt, age 96, dear wife of Norman, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, November 15, 2012 after a short stay at Azura Memory Center.
Frieda was born December 22, 1915 in Sheboygan to David and Emilie (Schaefer) Wagner. She attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and was a faithful, lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1933. For eight years she worked for Frozen Gold Ice Cream Co. and Wesley Jung Accounting as a bookkeeper.
On April 26, 194l Frieda and Norman Voigt were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Frieda was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church singing in the Senior Choir for many years and serving on the Altar Guild. She was a charter member of the Shoreline Women's Club and belonged to the YMCA where she proudly acquired a thousand swimming miles throughout the years. She enjoyed golfing and traveling with Norman. For eighteen years following retirement they wintered in Arizona. Frieda was a gracious hostess who loved entertaining friends and family.
In addition to her devoted husband, Norman, she is survived by two daughters, Carol Anderson of Worthington, Ohio and Ruth (Andrew) Hering of Sheboygan; four grandsons, Paul (Julia) Anderson of Hilliard, Ohio, Michael (Melissa) Anderson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Greg Hering of Sheboygan, and Scott (Lauren) Hering of Port Washington, WI; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ella, Lucas, Joshua, Molly, Max, and Sloane; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, David Wagner and John Wagner; four sisters, Lydia Tessin, Emily Jurss, Elvira Hensel, and Emma Mattson; and her son-in-law, David Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Avenue, Sheboygan. Rev. Timothy J. Mech and Rev. John Berg, Pastors, will co-officiate. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery. A time of visistation and support will be held at Trinity from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for Trinity Lutheran Church organ fund or the Senoir Choir at Trinity.
The family would like to thank the staff at Azura Memory Care, Home Instead Senior Care, and Grace Hospice for their compassion and special care shown to Frieda.
Frieda was a faithful Lutheran, and a devoted wife and mother whose wonderful legacy of love will live on in her family. She will be dearly missed but always in our hearts.
