Gale William Bruce, 89, passed away Friday, January 4 at a local hospital. He was a native Tennessean and lived most of his adult life in Chattanooga. He was a graduate of Tusculum College.
Gale was a Veteran of World War II, having served as a radio man with the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul B. and Ruby R. Bruce and a brother, Leonard R. Bruce.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Emge Bruce; daughters, Leslie Ann Bruce, Nashville, Elaine Gale Bruce and Valerie (Gerry) Gifford, Chattanooga; his sister, Dorcas B. Morgan, Knoxville; grandson Jeremy (Bambi) Gifford, Fort Oglethorpe and their children, Clayton, Catelyn, Dakota and Brynn; granddaughter Carrie (Freddie) Russell and their children, Alex, Caitlin, Olivia and Kaelyn and many members of the extended family.
The family will receive friends from 4PM to 6 PM Sunday and 5 PM to 7 PM Monday at the East Chapel. A private graveside service will be held in Knoxville .
