Our dearest Gemma Josephine Aranha passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2012, surrounded by loved ones, after fighting valiantly for several days following surgery for her heart condition. She is predeceased by her parents Grace and Gilbert, and her brother Odin. She was the beloved wife of Michael Charles Meharchand, and sister of Diana (Gerry), Ena (Edward), Odin (Gemma), Wilma, Nestor (Shaila) and Shamina (Alston). Gemma will be missed by all her family and friends, including her nieces and nephews whom she held so dearly in her heart.
Gemma will also be missed by her many friends at Sony of Canada where she worked for twenty-five years, and at the Arthritis Society where she worked pro bono to help others afflicted by arthritis.
Friends and family may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home at 6191 Yonge Street, on Tuesday February 21st, 2012. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 1:00pm at Saint Edward The Confessor Church, 75 Churchill Avenue, Toronto with burial to follow at York Cemetery, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto (please use the entrance on the West side of Senlac Road).
