George Steele Adams, 63, of Wilkesboro passed away Sunday, April 01, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Adams was born in Caldwell County to the late Orin Steele Adams and Fannie Blye Sutton Adams. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Elbert James Adams, William Adams and Walter Thad Adams. He was a member of Closer Walk Baptist Church in Wilkesboro.
Survivors include his brothers Otis Adams of Lenoir, Charlie Adams and wife Patsy of Lenoir, Howard Adams and wife Mary of Boone and Reverend Calvin J. Adams of Hendersonville; sisters, Roberta Gaddy and husband Winston of Maggie Valley and Gail Fish and husband Floyd of South Carolina.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Pendry's Chapel with Reverend Freddie C. Stapleton officiating. Burial will follow at Hartley Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Pendry's Funeral Home Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Beane, Jonathon Beane, Andy Adams, Owen Adams and Kevin Adams.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the family of George Steele Adams, c/o 3090 Summerlin Place, Lenoir, NC 28645.
