Mr. George Rudolph Asking age 78 of Marietta died Sunday, January 30, 2011. Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Wednesday at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Stephens officiating. Interment Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
Born in Lipcomb, AL. Mr. Askins was in sales for Ryder Trucks for several years before opening and running the Due West Hardware Store for 30 years. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. A member of the Lost Mountain Kiwanis and was a Clown for the shriners for many years. He attended Burnt Hickory Baptist. Proceeded in death by son Ruby Askins Jr.
