Bell, George Melvin, was born June 11, 1925 and passed away March 22, 2013. Since 1952 he was the owner of G & L Garages, which he owned with his wife Carol, who worked with him as bookkeeper until her death in 2011. George and Carol were married for 62 years. He was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Adah Bell; wife, Carol; infant son, Martin; sisters, Jessie and Viola and brothers, Lee and Don. George was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. He was a WWII Navy veteran, serving six years in the U.S. Navy and an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by sisters, Marge Ambler, Thelma VanSchoiack and Velma Seiver; sons, Steve Bell of California and Jeff (Ruth) Bell of Clearwater, KS; daughter, Georgann (Steve) McDonald of Fairway, KS; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation Friday 4:00-6:00 PM Friday March 29th and Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, both at Resthaven Mortuary with a graveside service with U.S. Navy Honors following.
