George William Blackwell
Mr. Blackwell, age 63, of Charlotte, NC, due to an aneurysm, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2011. Born December 1, 1947 in Guilford County, NC, he was the son of Ernestine Carter Blackwell of Charlotte and the late George Thomas Blackwell. Mr. Blackwell was a 1966 graduate of Harding High School. He was owner of Home Improvement Incorporated and a member of Society of Stranders. Mr. Blackwell was a member of Church of the Nazarene.
The family will receive friends 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service. The service to celebrate the life of George William Blackwell will follow at 2:00 PM from the graveside at Sunset Memory Gardens with Reverend Elmer Wilson and Reverend Dr. Chris Ayers, officiating
Survivors include his mother; daughter, Angela Elain Blackwell of Olive Branch, MS; sister, Carolyn B. Adams and husband, Charles, of Stanley; brother, Charles E. Blackwell of Charlotte; four grandchildren, George William Blackwell, III, Hayden MacKenzie Billingsley, Anslee Paige Billingsley and Camron Kade Billingsley; nephew, Jessie Glenn Hayes; and niece, Nina Mignon Blackwell. In addition to his father, Mr. Blackwell was preceded in death by his wife, Shelia Spake Blackwell; and son, George William Blackwell, II.
