George E. Farmer, 88 of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, in a local health care facility.
He was the son of the late Samuel and Gracie Farmer and was preceded in death by two brothers.
George was a veteran of the Army Air Force having served his country in WWII. He worked, throughout his life, in heating and air conditioning and was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 43.
He was a member of Gospel Chapel Assembly in Rossville, GA.
Survivors include his wife Hazel Farmer, of Chattanooga, TN, three children, Janice (Alvin) Parrish, of Chattanooga, TN, Gary (Debbie) Farmer, of Ooltewah, TN, Otis (Kimiko) Farmer, of Lusby, MD, four grandchildren, Heather (Dillon) Vanzant, of Ooltewah, TN, Holly (Larry) Swinea, of Ooltewah, TN, Brittany Farmer, of Chattanooga, TN, Zachary Laws, of Lusby, MD, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Noah Yarber officiating. Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
