GILROY, George Donald (January 7, 1930-May 20, 2012)-survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen Mary (nee Gimblett); his sons, Philip, Douglas, Stephen and Norman; his grandchildren, his pride and joy, Stephanie Jordan (Bryce), Lindsay Shayda (Aaron), Trista Gilroy (Chris), Kirsten Gilroy (Ryan), Rhonda Landon (Dana), Timothy Gilroy (Jennifer) and Melissa Gilroy; and his great-grandchildren Quintyn, Zachary, Tyler, Keara, Cadence, Devon, Thalia and Julia. George will also be remembered by his sister Ferne Olson (Alfred), brother-in-law Murray Vice, his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ruby (Wilson) and Morley Gilroy, step-mother Elsie (Samis), siblings Muriel Beath (David), Bill Gilroy (Shirley), Faye Vice and great-grandson Dylan Landon. Resting at the COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484) where the family will receive friends on Wednesday May 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday May 24th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a Memorial donation to the Oshawa Hospital Foundation (Durham Regional Cancer Centre) or Faith United Church.
